Overview of Our Journey
All your life, you have been on a spiritual journey.  Sometimes you are very aware of your search for something more, for a deeper meaning to your life, for a closer relationship with God, Other times you are unaware of being on this journey, or of God's presence in your life.

Sometimes, you might think that you know everything there is to know about the basic truths of our Catholic faith, so there is no need to go deeper; but, there is so much more to discover about our Catholic faith and living that faith. It takes practice. So, you might ask: why is this so important?

When we open ourselves to God and become aware of God’s presence in our lives, when we learn more about how God is present to us through our Catholic faith, we actively participate in our transformation into the people God created us to be. We grow in our love for God, others, ourselves, and the world.

As Catholic Christians, we are blessed to be part of a universal Church and a vibrant faith community, with teachers and resources which explain and help us to understand and to reflect on our faith.

Beginning on September 10 and continuing throughout the coming year, we invite you to journey with us as we explore our Catholic Christian faith tradition. We will provide an overview each week of a chapter of the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults (USCCA) (free, online versions in English and Spanish are available for viewing), together with links to prayers, videos, music, reflections, practices, and other resources related to the weekly topic.

We request and encourage you take some time each week to read the chapter of the USCCA, view the other resources provided for that week, and to include what you experience in your reflections and daily prayer. You may wish to use a journal to write down your thoughts, feelings, insights, inspirations, or questions that arise during moments along your journey.

Perhaps you and your spouse, a friend, or others would enjoy sharing what you have each discovered or experienced. You could also discuss the Saint's story, found at the beginning of each chapter of the USCCA, with your younger children, and sharing with them those other discoveries from your review that may be appropriate to their age and understanding.

Please read this week the “Introduction” to the USCCA, discussing the origin of the various Catechisms of the Catholic Church, and explaining the structure and various sections for each chapter of the USCCA, and view the other resources at the links provided below. On Sunday, September 10, we begin with "The Human Quest for God."

Please pray that we may each experience a meaningful and transforming Journey.
