MINISTRY NAME: HOSPITALITY/USHER

WHO DOES MINISTRY SERVE: Parishioners and Visitors

WHAT DOES MINISTRY DO: Welcome parishioners and visitors, provide security during Mass or other Church services, take the offertory collection, distribute bulletins.

THE PRIMARY GOALS THE MINISTRY SEEKS TO ACHIEVE:

1. Ensure the safe entry and exist before and after Mass or other services.

2. Assist those with special needs during Mass or other services.

3. Maintain security of funds collected during Mass or other services.

HOW DOES MINISTRY SEEK TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS: Ministry meetings and training. 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MINISTRY MEMBERS: Welcome worshipers, be alert to the environment, take up and secure the offertory collection. 

GIFTS/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS NEEDED BY MEMBERS TO SERVE IN MINISTRY: Virtus training; welcoming personality. 

TIME COMMITMENT REQUIRED BY MEMBER TO SERVE: Availability during and after Mass or other services and special events such as Holy Days of Obligation, First Communion, etc. Approximately 1 hour at each Mass or other service. 

WHEN DOES MINISTRY MEET: As needed.

WHERE DOES MINISTRY MEET: Parish Center.

TRAINING OR OTHER SUPPORT PROVIDED TO MEMBERS: Virtus training, pastoral instruction.
