MINISTRY NAME:  BAPTISM PREPARATION

WHO DOES MINISTRY SERVE: Parents with small children and Godparents to be, within the Community.

WHAT DOES MINISTRY DO: Instruct parents and Godparents about the Sacrament of Baptism

LIST THREE PRIMARY GOALS THE MINISTRY SEEKS TO ACHIEVE:

1. Parents and Godparents feel welcome and that they belong.

2. Parents and Godparents understand: why we baptize, Baptism as a sacrament, and their role as primary educators of the child in the Catholic Faith.

3. Parents and Godparents understand the importance of practicing their Catholic faith.

HOW DOES MINISTRY SEEK TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS:  Video, discussion, sharing their own experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF MINISTRY MEMBERS: Be on time, take attendance, distribute the information material: books, guidelines; information sheet, facilitate the class, and when class is over leave room clean and in order, turn the lights off and make sure doors are locked.

GIFTS/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS NEEDED BY MEMBERS TO SERVE IN MINISTRY:  Facilitator must be a practicing Catholic that understands their own baptismal call and how to raise a Catholic Child.

TIME COMMITMENT REQUIRED BY MEMBER TO SERVE:  Two hours every two months

WHEN DOES MINISTRY MEET:   Spanish Class: 3rd Sunday of the month at 1:45pm. English class: 1st Thursday of the month at 6:45pm.

WHERE DOES MINISTRY MEET:   In the conference room of Parish House

TRAINING OR OTHER SUPPORT PROVIDED TO MEMBERS:  Training on how to facilitate the class, material, and books are provided.
